Great News On April Fools Day

The Infrastructure committee is excited to report that traffic signals along Dixie Highway will be synchronized in the near future. The city and state plan to upgrade the signaling device infrastructure located on Shelbyville Road and Dixie Highway as well as putting them under the control of Louisville Metro's sophisticated central system. Currently the signals are on timers that can be adjusted only manually at the signals. Once the infrastructure is upgraded and connectivity is established to City Hall the lights can be programed via traffic operators to favor traffic going to the city in the morning and away from the city in the afternoons. Bottom line we should see much more green as we make our commutes, great news for SW Louisville.
The committee also provided input to KIPDA concerning ammendments to projects due to stimuluis monies received by the city. Visit the KIPDA website if you are interested in detailed listing of projects. The SW Dream Team supported the project ammendments. The Infrastructure committee offered the following input for KIPDA to consider in future:
*Fund and construct the Bike/Walk trail linking Farnsley Moremen Landing and The Jefferson Memorial Forest
*Fund and construct bike racks at Farnsley Moremen Landing and Mike Linnings. Currently accessibility and bike security is limited as visitors enjoy the surroundings or a meal
*Fund and Construct walkways/bikeways within the Farnsley Moremen/Riverside- Landing complex creating connectivity throughout the entire facility.
KEEP DREAMING!
